Dr. Helena Bentley is a native Atlantan and a practicing pediatrician for more than 28 years in metro Atlanta. She is the founder and medical director of KidCare Pediatrics, LLC, a medical practice providing the highest quality healthcare to children from birth to 18 years of age.
Dr. Bentley graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelors degree in biology and graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1982. She completed her pediatric residency training from Emory University-affiliated hospitals in 1985. Dr. Bentley is a board-certified pediatrician and is member of the medical staff of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Dr. Bentley has served the community as an innovative physician who seeks to improve the healthcare and quality of life for patients of all socioeconomic status. As the lead physician of a high volume practice, she has been an investigator (both a primary investigator and a secondary investigator) in pharmaceutical studies and has participated in quality improvement projects. She joined the investigative staff of ACMR in the spring of 2016.
She has also served on various healthcare boards and committees and she is a clinical preceptor to medical students and pediatric residents. Dr. Bentley also has developed a mobile app to assist asthmatic patients with self-management of their condition, thereby improving better outcomes and quality of life.
Dr. Bentley is a student and teacher of the Holy Bible. She was ordained as an evangelist in 1995. She also enjoys gardening and photography. She has always been an advocate for children and for equitable healthcare for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. She has volunteered in various community and faith-based projects and has supported medical and ministerial mission groups in other nations and regions, including Haiti, South America, and West Africa.
