ACMR was mentioned on “The Weekly Check-Up with Dr. Bruce Feinberg” on WSB-AM 750 and 95.5 FM during its November 20 show. Eric Riesenberg, the Director of Operations, called in to inform listeners about the exciting contributions Atlanta Center for Medical Research is making in the healthcare community and how they can become a part of it.
Dr. Feinberg gave a little introduction of ACMR and explained it to be a dedicated research center located near downtown Atlanta. When asked how many active trials there were, Riesenberg told the audience that there were currently 68 clinical trials being held for indications such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, depression, mood disorders, gout, diabetes, hypertension, and many more.
Riesenberg also detailed the many benefits of participating in a clinical study. If a participant meets the needed qualifications for a study, they are able to have access to cutting edge medicines. He explained that insurance is not needed to participate and there is no need to pay out of pocket. Most trials will also compensate participants for their time and most of the medications being tested have already been tested in other humans, which makes it very safe. Riesenberg informed listeners that these clinical trials are being held in efforts to cut side effects and improve treatment methods for certain diseases and conditions.
Riesenberg encouraged listeners to visit ACMR’s website at ACMR.org or to call in for more information on current clinical trials at 404-881-5800.
