The Atlanta Center for Medical Research Hosts Reunion for Former Southwest Atlanta Hospital Physicians and Staff

Atlanta Center for Medical Research News

Before the Atlanta Center for Medical Research was founded in 1982, the Southwest Atlanta Hospital used to reside in its place. On Saturday, August 26 from noon to 3 p.m., ACMR hosted the 3rd annual reunion for the former hospital’s physicians and staff. There were approximately 100 attendees, who were all treated to lunch as several former doctors of Southwest Atlanta Hospital spoke. They reflected on their experience at the hospital and shared what they were up to now. Attendees were also given a tour of the building, which had components both new and old compared to when it was utilized as a hospital.

ACMR is proud to have hosted such a successful reunion and looks forward to hosting future events that help to strengthen the community. ACMR is now a 150,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, open-source research facility that aims to facilitate the availability of safe and effective medicine to people everywhere.
