ACMR Visits Senior Center
On Monday June 29 the Atlanta Center for Medical Research staff had the joy of meeting and volunteering with 40 seniors at the Austell Senior Center. The Austell Senior Center was created in 1972 with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for thousands of Cobb County senior citizens through nutrition, education and recreational activities and programs. Since its birth, Austell Senior Services, along with its staff and 900 plus community volunteers, has continued to provide compassionate service to the steadily growing senior population in America.
During the visit ACMR staff members discussed the importance of being aware of the early warning signs of memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. ACMR staff also offered complimentary and confidential memory loss assessments to the residents of the center.
